Children search for their own truth in the company of others, to seek peace and justice in the world, and to engage their whole selves—mind and body, heart and soul—in creating a meaningful life journey.

All children begin Sunday morning in the sanctuary with their families and are escorted to classrooms after the Children’s Story concludes. Children and teens are always welcome to stay in the sanctuary for the service if they prefer.

There is no fee for RE classes or Sunday morning childcare, but please let the Director of Religious Education know if your child has an allergy or other special considerations we should be aware of.

Toddlers and Preschoolers (Ages 2 to 5)

The younger children are invited to join a fun and fabulous teen for play time and community in the Beatrix Potter Room or stay with their parents during the service. Like the older children, our preschoolers always start the morning in the sanctuary with their families and are escorted to their classroom after the Children’s Story. For infants and young toddlers who wish to stay with a parent during the service, there is a soundproof room at the back of the sanctuary so parents can see and hear the service without worrying that a fussy or active child will disturb others. All three have munipulatives that are regularly changed for busy hands.

RE for Elementary Ages (K-6)

Children in grades K to 6 join their parents in the sanctuary for the beginning of the service then depart right after the Children’s Story, usually about 10 minutes into the service. Children are welcomed downstairs to share in their own time for joys & concerns, a story, and an activity based on the sermon topic.
